I live locally with my husband and our son, who has been at the school since Reception and is now in Year 6 – my, how that time has flown. I work in a management role at the RD&E Hospital so have experience of planning, finance and governance processes and inspection and compliance frameworks. Having worked for the NHS for over 25 years, I fully understand the challenge of delivering the best possible service and outcomes within the constraints of available resources.
As a governor, I aim to offer both positive feedback and constructive challenge to the school team and feel privileged to have the opportunity to use the experience and skills gained in my job and my perspective as a parent to support the staff and children at Uffculme Primary School.
Outside of work I enjoy nature and supporting our son at his various sports activities. I used to be quite fit myself but the most I accomplish these days is taking our puppy for a walk. You never know – when he’s a bit older I might manage to make that a run …!
